YinPreneurs™
know that success is less about strategy and more about centering and
intentional action. We also know that is is not about overnight success, but the realization of creative breakthroughs that who up on our journey, at unexpected moment and places, when we blend heart, mind and spirit. A way of being, honoring and realizing a relationship with ourselves and infinite possibility.
There are many paths to discovering your creativity, here are four I often travel and wish to share with you. Come with me as I retrace some of the steps on this journey of creativity, innovation and joyful forward movement.
-
Be curious. This is a way of being in relationship with what shows up on your journey. Allow yourself to be an observer, with neutral, non-judgment, and experience the unknown with wonder. Revel in the yin energy that lives in your heart, not in your head. Be with the questions and allow the answers to reveal themselves.
-
Be vulnerable. This is a way of being in relationship with fears and the little, negative voices that show up on this journey. A way of being that allows you to listen, and move from fearful and stuck to energized and trusting. Be sensitive and welcome all of your emotions and feelings, without allowing them to define and distract. You do not have to be fearless to move forward. Know in your heart that each moment brings an opportunity for innovation or learning. It is OK to fall down, as long as you get back up. Tip (from Shelby Collinge): Consider a reframe of F.E.A.R. as Feeling Excited And Ready.
-
Be connected. This is a way of being in connection with (your) source. Walking a path lead by spirit. Connected to heart, come out of your head and into your body, where yin energy lives. Feel the energy and know when innovation shows up. Get in touch with your intuition and trust that it will guide you on your path. Connect to source, and community – in life and work.
-
Be committed. Commit to yourself, daily practice and inspired action. Know what energizes you and make it a daily practice. Say "No" to what drains you. And, be aware when innovation reveals itself, then take intentional action – knowing you can design your path and pace yourself. And, write it down - on your calendar, in your journal,or on a yellow stickie note. Whatever works for you.
While walking these paths, I enjoy living in wonder, knowing that my “mistakes” are simply lessons on my journey. Moving with my fears, quieting the voices in my head, and trusting my connection with spirit. When I need a reminder, I put a word or an affirmation on a stickie note and place it on my bathroom mirror. When creativity gets blocked, I take a slow breath, move slowly and remind myself to be on one or all of these paths.
This is what works for me, but I would love to hear what you find when you travel these paths, or share with us the paths you’ve traveled to your breakthroughs.
I invite you to share in the comments below.

All wonderful suggestions for increasing creativity!
Play is my path to creative breakthroughs. Play takes many forms so I have a huge variety of ways to access my creative flow. For example nature-play offers many avenues for play. When I walk by Saratoga passage or hike in nearby woods I play and bear witness to a particular color that unfolds or I might find that a deer or red-tail hawk shows herself with a message for me. Natural metaphors are plentiful when I am aware and open to their presence and what might want to be communicated. A tree bent in the middle becomes a pregnant woman ready to give birth (what is ready to give birth with me?) A shell with many holes reveals many of my own openings small and large--which opening is right for me? When and where will I say NO, or YES!

Thank you very much for sharing this information Karen.
What also helps me is getting in touch with my higher voice and guidance. I ask what is the belief or fear in my way. When I know the answer, I can release it and move forward.
